Sharing some sad news - the passing of Flagg
-
It is with a heavy heart that I must share this message. Unfortunately Flagg: a beloved friend, teammate, and active community member, suddenly passed away a few weeks ago at the end of March. We recently received confirmation of it happening from a friend of his.
He's been a close friend to many of us and has been active as moderator for Hashpwn and helped Team HashMob achieve 1st place on CMIYC 2024. He has both been a creative inspiration and peer for projects, as well as helping people recover money from lost crypto-wallets. He has been part of the cybersecurity scene for decades and made multiple publications under his real name.
For privacy reasons and out of respect for his friends and family we will not be disclosing more information regarding his passing, please respect this.
Rest easy Flagg, you will be dearly missed.

When we were working on launching hashpwn in 2024, Flagg was a top pick for moderator. Not only was he an enjoyable person to collab with, he had a gift for finding a needle in a haystack when it came to plaintext patterns, sources, and anything OSINT related. Flagg was humbled when I asked him to join hashpwn as a mod. He was just that kind of guy -- talented, but humble.
In late December 2024, Flagg and I collabed together and won first place at a hash cracking event hosted at Hashkiller. Not long after that, he was kicking my tail on the newly launched Jabbercracky leaderboard. Flagg was definitely someone you wanted on your team.
RIP @flagg, you were a great friend.
